Bistro 501

(27 votes, average: 3.67 out of 5)501 Main Street, Lafayette, IN 47901; 765-423-4501
[French, Fine Dining] Bistro 501 is a wonderful addition to the great dining in the downtown area. From the provincial decor and extensive wine list to the fabulous French cuisine and decadent desserts, this is definitely a place you’ll want to take a date. Located on the southeast corner of the Courthouse Square, Bistro 501 is walking distance from both of the major downtown Lafayette-West Lafayette hotels, and the parking garage. Kokoro Japanese Cuisine

(15 votes, average: 4.2 out of 5)526 Main Street, Lafayette, IN 47903; 765-742-81
[Japanese, Sushi] Kokoro has been a favorite for Greater Lafayette and Purdue sushi lovers for almost forever (or it seems that way anyway). The wait for your food can get a little long some nights, but all of the reviews say it’s worth the wait. Kokoro is located on Main street in historic Downtown Lafayette, and is walking distance from the downtown parking garage. Some street parking is available.

Lafayette Brewing Company

(8 votes, average: 3.25 out of 5)622 Main Street, Lafayette, IN 47903; 765-742-2591
[Micro-Brewery, Bar, Grill] Affectionately known by locals as just “the brew pub”, the Lafayette Brewing Company has a loyal following of beer aficionados. While this reviewer can’t speak to the beer quality (just vodka for me, thankyouverymuch), the menu is much better than your average bar food. The Armenian Chicken is a personal fave. The Lafayette Brewing Company is walking distance from the downtown parking garage, and street parking is available on an “if you can find it, go for it” basis. There is a small lot across the street as well, but it fills quickly.

The Pub

(10 votes, average: 2.7 out of 5)407 Union Street, Lafayette, IN 47903; 765-423-2576
[American Cuisine, Bar, Grill] The Pub is a long standing Purdue tradition, and if you happen to go on a game night/weekend, expect it to be very crowded. The Pub is owned by the same people who own Harry’s on campus (you may recognize the slogan on the t-shirts the waitresses wear). The food is your standard bar fare, but it is good. The decor reminds me of a basement finished to be a bar circa 1970, but that could just be me. Overall, it’s friendly and very much a fun place to be to watch Purdue basketball games. (You may not want to show your face if you’re an IU fan, though). There’s ample parking out back, and it’s walkable from numerous apartment buildings and from downtown Lafayette.

Toscana Italian Grill & Bar

(2 votes, average: 2 out of 5)515 South Street (Inside the Holiday Inn Select-City Centre), Lafayette, IN 47903; 765-742-5230
[Italian Cuisine] Toscana serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, is open seven days a week, and is committed to sourcing fruits, vegetables, herbs and other ingredients locally from sustainable sources. On-site parking is available, but the lot also serves hotel patrons, so space runs out quickly. There is some street parking available on adjacent side streets as well as access to the municipal parking garage nearby.
