We consider restaurants “casual” when dressing up (suit/dress) is not required, and dinner for 4 adults generally won’t exceed $60.00 (excluding cocktails/beer and tip). Casual restaurants that consider themselves steakhouses, or specialize in seafood, may run a little more expensive. These lists include the new “quick casual” restaurant concept, but do not include traditional “fast food” chain restaurants.

We have a few very well known steakhouses in town. These places tend to be a little spendier than your average “American Cuisine” restaurant, but who doesn’t expect that when you’re going out for a fine cut of beef? In addition to our homegrown establishments, Lafayette also sports the usual cadre of chains. - Bars & Taverns
Does this category need a whole lot of explanation? I’m guessing no. We’re a college town, and therefore, we have lots of bars.
